Change!

The plan had been to air this show right after the election. Alas, the real world had other plans and I found myself fixing a problem of critical importance to the Internet (okay, to my company) last week, and so we get the obligatory "change" episode, tonight! During the next month or so, as the holiday season is upon us, I'm taking the time to finish the changes (see how I sneak that in?) to the show that I've been working on, especially in examining how the episodes of Steinberg's have been going. A few small changes, a lot of improvements and a couple places where I'll be taking a chance or two, and I have some fun stuff planned for 2009!

Diversions

Every show, I try to diverge a little bit and expose some music that is tangentially-related to progressive rock and electronic music. Typically, this is something that my prog friends also like, so my hope is that I might turn you on to something you've not heard before.

Tears for Fears: Change, from The Hurting. Written by Roland Orzabal and sung by bassist Curt Smith, it was the band's fourth single release. It would eventually become the second hit from their debut LP The Hurting (1983) and second UK Top 5 chart hit, following the success of "Mad World". The song also gave Tears for Fears their first charting single in America when it cracked the Billboard Top 75 in August 1983. "Change" was also a big international success, reaching the Top 40 in several countries around the world.
